Gajar Ka Halwa

What about this milky, carrot-based halwa? Its cooked carrots’ soft texture contrasts with the crunchy almonds. You need up to just 20 minutes to put together a healthy sweet snack and dessert. Some patience is required as it refrigerates for a few hours, but it’ll be worth the wait.
Ingredients Needed for Gajar Ka Halwa
1 ½ cups of milk
3 medium carrots, grated
2 tablespoons of sugar
½ cup condensed milk
1 ounce butter
2 teaspoons of cardamom powder
3 ounces of almonds, crumbled
How to Make Gajar Ka Halwa
- Add the milk and carrots in a saucepan over low heat. Cook and stir until soft. When the milk starts bubbling turn the heat lower and simmer.
- Add the sugar, condensed milk, and butter while stirring. Add the cardamom, stir, then cook for 8-10 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Line a loaf pan with parchment paper. Spread the crumbled almonds on its bottom, then layer the carrot mixture. Gently press it to make it even. Refrigerate for 5 hours.
- You can serve it cut into forms and garnished with more almonds.
