Bring out the flavor of a whole fish by baking it with fruit! Usually, when you cook fish, you have to use citrus. But this time, try to put some apple slices in the same pan. The fish may be too dry, so make a creamy sauce as well! This one, with capers and heavy cream, takes no more than 3 minutes and it’s amazing!

1 lemon 1 sea bream, gutted salt pepper 1 tablespoon walnut, crushed 2 tablespoons of butter 1 tablespoon caper 2 tablespoons of heavy cream 1 teaspoon aromatic herb, chopped

How to Make Whole Baked Sea Bream With Caper Sauce

  1. Preheat the oven to 380 degrees F/190 degrees C.
  2. Wash the fish inside and out under cold running water, then gently pat dry with paper towels.
  3. Slice the apple and half of the lemon.
  4. Line a baking tray with aluminum foil.
  5. Place a 3-4 apple slices in the center of the foil. Place the sea bream on top. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Squeeze lemon juice from the remaining half lemon over the bream.
  7. Stuff the fish with 2-3 lemon slices.
  8. Cover it with the remaining apple slices. Sprinkle the crushed walnuts on the fish.
  9. Drizzle with olive oil.
  10. Fold the foil and cover the fish entirely.
  11. Bake for 25 minutes.
  12. To make the caper sauce: heat a skillet and melt the butter. Add the capers and the heavy cream.
  13. Squeeze some more lemon juice and add a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Cook the mixture until you get a smooth and thick sauce.
  14. When the fish is ready, remove it from the oven. Let it sit 5 minutes, than serve it with the caper sauce.
