This one makes for a naughty dessert. And it just implies some broiling. You can tame the sour bitterness of grapefruit with brown sugar and upgrade it even more through caramelization and molasses-like quality dark rum.

Ingredients Needed for Rum-Broiled Grapefruit

1 grapefruit, halved
2 tablespoons of dark rum
2 teaspoons of brown sugar

How to Cook Rum-Broiled Grapefruit

  1. Loosen the pulp segments and edges of each grapefruit half using the tip of a knife. Also, poke holes an make small cuts into the pulp.
  2. Place each half into a ramekin with a slightly smaller diameter.
  3. Pour a tablespoon of rum over the loosened pulp. See to it, that rum infiltrates the holes and cuts made into the pulp.
  4. Sprinkle them with the brown sugar, then bake for 20 minutes at 360⁰F/180⁰C.
