Mackerel in Tomato Sauce

Mackerel is one of the most served fish around the world. It comes at a cheap price, but with a strong, distinct flavor, thus making a reliable option when you’re in the mood for a fish dinner. If you want to try a simple recipe, cook it on the stove, in a rich tomato sauce, flavored with oregano and garam masala!
Ingredients Needed for Mackerel in Tomato Sauce
2 mackerels s, cleaned and gutted
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
salt
1 tablespoon mustard seeds
1 red onion, chopped
1 teaspoon garam masala
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon chili paste
2 celerys stick, chopped
14 ounces of canned tomatoes
parsley
How to Make Mackerel in Tomato Sauce
- Thinly slice the mackerel fillets.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the mackerel and season it with salt. Cook it for 2-3 minutes, until golden.
- Heat the remaining oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the mustard seeds and red onion. Season with garam masala, oregano, chili paste, and salt.
- Stir everything, add the celery and canned tomatoes. Cook everything for 8-10 minutes, to allow the sauce to reduce. About 1 minute before turning off the heat, finish with a touch of parsley.

Yes Mackerel does not need Tomato sauce, I just would like a recipe using other vegetables
