Mackerel in Tomato Sauce

Mackerel is one of the most served fish around the world. It comes at a cheap price, but with a strong, distinct flavor, thus making a reliable option when you’re in the mood for a fish dinner. If you want to try a simple recipe, cook it on the stove, in a rich tomato sauce, flavored with oregano and garam masala!

Ingredients Needed for Mackerel in Tomato Sauce

    2 mackerels s, cleaned and gutted
    2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
    salt
    1 tablespoon mustard seeds
    1 red onion, chopped
    1 teaspoon garam masala
    1 teaspoon dried oregano
    1 teaspoon chili paste
    2 celerys stick, chopped
    14 ounces of canned tomatoes
    parsley

How to Make Mackerel in Tomato Sauce

  1. Thinly slice the mackerel fillets.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the mackerel and season it with salt. Cook it for 2-3 minutes, until golden.
  3. Heat the remaining oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the mustard seeds and red onion. Season with garam masala, oregano, chili paste, and salt.
  4. Stir everything, add the celery and canned tomatoes. Cook everything for 8-10 minutes, to allow the sauce to reduce. About 1 minute before turning off the heat, finish with a touch of parsley.

  1. I asked for a recipe for NO TOMATO sauce.
    Yes Mackerel does not need Tomato sauce, I just would like a recipe using other vegetables
