Ingredients Needed for Braised Lamb With Dried Fruit
12 ounces of lamb shoulder, thick dices
¼ cup vegetable oil
salt
pepper
2 fresh thyme sprigs
3 garlic cloves, sliced
½ cup dried cherry
½ cup dried apricot
1 cup red wine
2 cups of beef stock
How to Make Braised Lamb With Dried Fruit
- Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the diced lamb and cook it until browned on all sides, while stirring often.
Season it with salt and pepper, thyme, and garlic. Cook for around 5 minutes. - Add the dried cherries, apricots, and the red wine. Bring to a boil and reduce the heat. Cook until the wine reduces by half.
- Pour the beef stock, and simmer for around 30 minutes, on low heat, until the meat is tender, and the sauce is thick and glossy.
- You can serve it with a nice side of mashed potatoes!
