Have you ever wanted to eat an omelet out of your hand? Well, the future is now! (Or almost now) Some people funded on Kickstarter a business that produces omelet bars.
The product is Scramblers, and it managed to raise over 18,000 dollars on the crowd-sourcing site Kickstarter. 309 people apparently wanted to get omelet bars delivered to their places. The product was described as “Anytime/Anywhere, KETO-Friendly, Clean-Label, Shelf-Stable, Delicious & Nutritious Breakfast Bars (Featuring 100% Pasture Raised Eggs!)” on the official page.
The omelet bars have a shelf life of 12 months, even though apparently they don’t contain any chemical preservatives. And you don’t even need to keep them in a refrigerator. When you want to eat them, you just pop one of them in the microwave and you’re good to go.
The best ingredients for omelet bars
“We use top-quality, transparently-sourced ingredients, like Organic, Pasture-Raised Eggs and Grass-Fed Ghee. We know how crazy mornings can be and how limited are the great tasting and healthy on-the-go options,” says the Scramblers team.
They teamed up with a company called Chew, a self-described team of “chefs, scientists, and inventors that don’t believe in impossible and don’t care about how things ‘should’ be done.” The omelet bars are a labor of love, over two years in the making. There are a few versions of this food, including ‘bacon, egg & cheese’, ‘Greek spinach & feta’, and ‘spicy chicken sausage’.
How about nutritional value, you might ask? Well, according to the team, omelet bars have about 10 grams of protein per bar, 1-3 grams of carbs, and less than 1 gram of fat. They’re also rich in vitamin D, vitamin E, omega-3 fatty acids, and beta-carotene.
I mean, it all sounds a little too good to be true, right? Guess we won’t know until we get to try one of these omelet bars for ourselves.
