These cheese balls are not necessary vegetarian and that’s because of the parmesan. The original parmesan is made using the rennet enzyme, so you must explicitly use rennet-free parmesan if you want this to be a vegetarian dish. They are extra-cheesy in that we made them with 3 types of cheese, and we upgraded them with crushed walnuts.

Ingredients Needed for Walnut Cheese Balls

10 ounces of goat cheese, grated
    2 tablespoons of crushed walnuts
    2 tablespoons of parmesan, grated
    1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
    salt
    2 tablespoons of cream cheese
    flour
    whisked egg
    panko

How to Make Walnut Cheese Balls

  1. Add the goat cheese, walnuts, parmesan, parsley, and cream cheese to a bowl. Season with salt and mix until even.
  2. Start shaping little balls from the mixture. In the end, we’ve got 20 of them.
  3. Coat them with flour, whisked egg, and panko.
  4. Fill a deeper frying pan halfway with vegetable oil and heat it. Deep-fry the cheese balls until golden.
