In the mood for some nice, grilled chicken breast? Say no more! First, coat the chicken with a simple marinade: olive oil and some seasonings. Let the flavors combine for about 2 hours, and then place the chicken breast over a hot grill. We couldn’t think of a better side other than a fresh basil pesto. But don’t buy it! You can easily make it at home, and it’ll be way tastier.

Ingredients Needed for Grilled Chicken With Pesto Sauce

    ½ cup olive oil
    salt
    pepper
    1 tablespoon mixed herbs
    12 ounces of chicken breast, sliced
    ½ lime
    ½ lemon
    7 basil leaves
    1 garlic clove

How to Make Grilled Chicken With Pesto Sauce

  1. You can start by making a simple marinade out of olive oil, seasoned with salt, pepper, and mixed herbs. Keep about 1 tablespoon of olive oil for using later on.
  2. Add in the chicken and let it marinate for about 2 hours.
  3. Prepare the pesto. Use a blender and add the basil, garlic, lime juice and zest, lemon juice and zest, and remaining olive oil. Mix everything until smooth.
  4. Place the chicken over a hot grill, and cook it for about 6 minutes per side.
  5. When ready, serve it with the pesto sauce.
