Basic Oatmeal

You've never cooked oatmeal before? Everybody's gotta start somewhere. Cooking it is easy peasy, just remember to use a ratio of 1 cup of oats to 2 cups of water.

1 cup rolled oats
2 cups of water
salt
blackberry jam for topping

Heat a saucepan over medium heat, add the rolled oats and pour the water.

Add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil. Give it a good stir.

Cook the oats until the water is absorbed for a maximum of 5 minutes.

Rememeber: Use a ratio of 1 cup of oats per 2 cups water.

I guess I’ve always had a passion for cooking ever since I was a kid when I was mom’s little helper in the kitchen.
