We have a thing with homemade snacks – because they’re obviously healthier than store-bought ones. These tater tots are actually a piece of wiener in a potato crust, all rolled in a bacon slice and then fried. For another flavor dimension to the dish, dip them in the yolk of a soft-boiled egg! It’s quite the breakfast idea!

How to Make Wiener Tater Tots Wrapped in Bacon

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil.
  2. Pinch one egg with a sharp knife to make a small hole. Put the egg into the water and make it soft boiled. Five minutes should be perfect for a runny yolk.
  3. Shred the potatoes and put them into a bowl.
  4. Add the flour, season with pepper and add the grated mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
  5. Add dried basil and herb salt.
  6. Mix everything well, using one fork and one tablespoon.
  7. Coat each wiener piece into the potato mixture and shape the tater tots.
  8. Wrap each tater tot in bacon slices. You should make about 8 wrapped tater tots.
  9. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet and deep-fry the wiener tater tots on all sides, for about 3-4 minutes.
  10. Put the egg in a egg cup while is still warm, and cut its top.
  11. Put the egg cup in the middle of a large plate, and the tater tots on the edges, surrounding it.
  12. Dip each tater tot in warm egg yolk and enjoy!
