Ingredients Needed for Walnut Pie Shake
For the pie crust:
1 cup flour
3 ounces of butter, melted
¼ cup sugar
For the filling:
2 eggs, whisked
1 ounce butter, melted
¼ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon flour
1 tablespoon milk
1 fluid ounce bourbon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup walnuts, chopped
3 ounces of dark chocolate
For the shakes:
2 cups of milk
1 fluid ounce bourbon
12 ounces of vanilla ice cream
How to Make Walnut Pie Shake
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F/200 degrees C.
- Grab a large bowl and add the flour, melted butter, and sugar. Use your fingers and mix, until the dough has the aspect of breadcrumbs.
- Grab a rectangular baking dish, around 10 inches (25 cm) X 4 inches (10 cm), preferably with a removable bottom. Line it with parchment paper.
- Lay the dough in the tray, and level it, so you release the excess air.
- Slide the tray into the oven and bake everything for 50 minutes.
- For the filling, add the whisked eggs in a large bowl. Add the melted butter, sugar, brown sugar, while whisking in the process. Keep whisking and add the flour, milk, bourbon, vanilla extract, walnuts, and dark chocolate. Mix.
- When the crust is ready, take it out of the oven. Keep the heat on. Pour the filling over the crust.
- Slide the tray into the oven for the next 50 minutes.
- Take out the pie and place it on your wooden board. Cut into 8-10 smaller chunks.
- Set up your large blender and add the pie chunks. Pour the milk, bourbon, and add the vanilla ice cream. Blend until smooth.
- Grab your shake glasses and decorate them with chocolate sauce. Pour the shake and serve it.
