Ingredients Needed for Spicy Cabbage With Peas
½ cabbage head
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon allspice
1 tablespoon cumin seeds
1 tablespoon grain mustard
½ onion, chopped
1 teaspoon turmeric
½ cup water
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
½ cup canned tomatoes
½ cup peas
How to Cook Spicy Cabbage With Peas
- Slice and thinly chop the cabbage.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add allspice, cumin seeds, grain mustard, and the onion. Cook it for 2-3 minutes, until browned. Season with turmeric. Add the sliced cabbage. Stir, and pour 1/2 cup of water.
- Season with chili powder, and cayenne pepper. Cook the cabbage until it softens, for about 5 minutes. Add canned tomatoes and peas. Continue cooking for 5 more minutes, until spices are evenly mixed in, and the cabbage is done cooking.
- You can serve it with a touch of parsley on top!
