Sausage and Asparagus in Tomato Sauce

Combining sausages with asparagus seems a blasphemy? Even if asparagus is used in gourmet cuisine most of the time and sausages are one of the most common ingredients on everybody’s table, don’t step in the kitchen having this preconception! Cook them together and add some tomato sauce, then serve everything with rice!

Ingredients Needed for Sausage and Asparagus in Tomato Sauce

¼ cup vegetable oil
4 sausages
4 asparaguses sticks
1 ounce butter
2 garlic cloves
1 parsley, chopped
rosemary, fresh
thyme, fresh
salt
pepper
1 cup tomato sauce

How to Cook Sausage and Asparagus in Tomato Sauce

  1. Score the sausages.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet and fry the sausages for 6-8 minutes, turning them on all sides.
  3. Add the asparagus in the skillet.
  4. Add the butter and melt it.
  5. Coat the sausages and asparagus sticks with butter and vegetable oil mixture.
  6. Crush the garlic and add it to the skillet.
  7. Add the parsley, rosemary, and thyme, then season with salt and pepper.
  8. Add the tomato sauce and mix. Cook the dish for another 4-5 minutes, then turn off the heat.
  9. Serve the sausages with rice.
