Salami and Mozzarella Braided Puff Pastry

Pastry is the perfect snack for visits or a break from work. Combine the power of pastry with that of tomato sauce and salami, and it becomes a force to be reckoned with. Especially if it has melted mozzarella on the inside and crunchy mozzarella on the outside!

Ingredients Needed for Salami and Mozzarella Braided Puff Pastry

1 puff pastry sheet
1 tablespoon flour
4 tablespoons of tomato sauce
4 ounces of shredded mozzarella
7 salamis
1 egg
4 tablespoons of milk

How to Cook Salami and Mozzarella Braided Puff Pastry

  1. Preheat the oven to 360 degrees F/180 degrees C.
  2. Flour your work space.
  3. Spread the puff pastry on the flour.
  4. In the middle third of the sheet, add the tomato sauce and half of the mozzarella.
  5. Add the salami, in a vertical line, over the tomato sauce and mozzarella.
  6. Cut 11-12 strips from the puff pastry, perpendicular to the sauce, cheese, and salami, on both sides.
  7. Fold the strips over the filling, one from the left, one from the right, and so on.
  8. Remove the excess puff pastry.
  9. Whisk the egg, add milk, making egg wash.
  10. Use a brush to coat the pastry with the egg wash.
  11. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella over the pastry.
  12. Cook in the oven for 30 minutes.
