Layali Lubnan translates to "Lebanese Nights" and it is a dessert similar to semolina pudding. Its delicious flavor comes from the subtle orange blossom water, which can be also replaced with rose water, or even mastic if you want to add a Greek twist to it.

Ingredients Needed for Layali Lubnan

6 cups of milk
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon orange blossom water
1 cup semolina
7 ounces of sour cream
½ cup powdered sugar
¼ cup egg wash
lime zest

How to Make Layali Lubnan

  1. Heat a saucepan over medium heat and add the milk in it.
  2. Add the sugar, orange blossom water, and semolina.
  3. Start whisking vigorously until the mixture thickens.
  4. Mix the sour cream and powdered sugar in a small bowl.
  5. Brush a glass baking dish with egg wash.

  7. Add the milk and semolina mixture and evenly spread it in the tray.
  8. Evenly spread the heavy cream and powdered sugar mixture on top.
  9. Refrigerate overnight.
  10. Serve the dessert with lime zest on top.
