Romesco is a red pepper and nut sauce, originating from the Spanish region of Catalonia. We have used almonds, garlic, a touch of sherry, paprika and cayenne pepper to add it a bit of spice. It is a sauce usually served with fish, but you can serve it with seafood and other meats also.

Ingredients Needed for Homemade Romesco Sauce

1 roasted bell pepper
¼ cup almonds
1 garlic clove
3 tablespoons of tomato paste
1 tablespoon sherry vinegar
1 tablespoon water
1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
salt
pepper
½ cup olive oil

How to Make Homemade Romesco Sauce

  1. Set up your blender and add the roasted bell pepper.
  2. Add the almonds, garlic, tomato paste, sherry vinegar, water, and parsley.
  3. Season with paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Blend everything until smooth.
  4. Pour the olive oil and start blending.
  5. Blend until smooth and serve!
