A croissant is a simple, maybe even routine breakfast. But you can build upon its delicate yet crunchy pastry by adding a few ingredients. First, transform the croissants into lovely sandwiches with ham and mozzarella. Next: cover them with heavy cream and bake! The result is an excellent breakfast and an even better snack.

Ingredients Needed for Ham and Mozzarella Croissant Pudding

6 croissants
¼ cup mustard
6 hams slices
6 ounces of low moisture mozzarella, shredded
1 teaspoon butter
⅔ cup heavy cream
nutmeg

How to Make Ham and Mozzarella Croissant Pudding

  1. Preheat the oven to 360 degrees F/180 degrees C.
  2. Halve the croissants lengthwise.
  3. Make croissant sandwiches: spread mustard on the bottom half of each one, then add one slice of ham, some shredded mozzarella, then top the sandwiches with the other half of each croissant.
  4. Grease a ceramic pie pan with butter, then place all of the croissants in it.
  5. Spread the heavy cream on them.
  6. Top with the remaining mozzarella and grate some nutmeg over them.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes.
