Is this your first quiche Loraine? Then you should know that Loraine refers to a mix of bacon and Gruyere cheese. And, of course, eggs. Follow the steps and in half an hour you’ll have a hearty egg dish.

Ingredients Needed for Quiche Lorraine

    8 eggs
    2 tablespoons of water
    salt
    pepper
4 ounces of bacon, cut into small pieces
    1 onion, chopped
    4 ounces of Gruyère, grated

How to Make Quiche Lorraine

  1. Crack the eggs and add them to a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper and add the 2 tablespoons of water. Whisk.
  2. Preheat the oven to 360ºF/180ºC.
  3. Heat an ovenproof nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the bacon and cook it until crispy, for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Add the onion and cook it together with the bacon, until it softens, for about 3 minutes.
  5. Add the Gruyere cheese and the whisked eggs to the skillet.
  6. Transfer to the oven and bake for 25 minutes.
