Want to bring something new to your classic potato chips? Here is a simple trick you can do. Before you fry them, grab 2 chips, add a basil leaf between them, and press them together. Next thing you do, deep-fry them as you would normally, so it will make the basil release its flavor. Serve with shredded parmesan, and you’re good to go!

Ingredients Needed for Fried Potato Chips With Basil and Parmesan

    4 potatoes
    12 basil leaves
    vegetable oil for frying
    parmesan, shredded

How to Make Fried Potato Chips With Basil and Parmesan

  1. Grab the potatoes and then thinly slice them, in around 0.2 inches (0.5 cm) thick slices. Take 2 slices and place 1 basil leaf between them. Press the sides of the chips, so they will remain glued to one another.
  2. Add enough vegetable oil in a skillet, so you can deep-fry the potatoes. Bring it to high heat and add the potato chips. Deep-fry them until golden and crispy on all sides, for around 5-6 minutes.
  3. Remove the potato chips when ready, and sprinkle shredded parmesan on top. You can serve them with ketchup and salsa sauce!
