If you're into crunchy snacks, try this fried Caprese salad - it's easy to make and really comforting. All you have to do is preparing the Caprese combo - put together mozzarella, tomatoes and basil -, coat it in breadcrumbs and then deep-fried it.

Ingredients Needed for Fried Caprese Salad

1 tomato
4 mozzarellas
4 basil
2 tablespoons of flour
1 egg
1 tablespoon milk
2 tablespoons of breadcrumbs
vegetable oil for frying

How to Make Fried Caprese Salad

  1. Slice the tomato. Halve the mozzarella slices.
  2. Make a tower of tomato, mozzarella and basil – add one slice of tomato, then a slice of mozzarella, a basil leaf, and repeat with the ingredients until you finish them all.
  3. Fix the tomato with a skewer.
  4. Whisk the egg with milk and make an egg wash.
  5. Coat the tomato and mozzarella fan with flour, then egg wash, and then breadcrumbs.
  6. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet.
  7. Deep-fry the caprese bomb.
  8. Set aside a few minutes before serving. Eat the dish while it’s still warm.
