Ingredients Needed for Christmas Cinnabons

For the dough:

1 teaspoon dry yeast
1 cup water, warm
4 cups of flour
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
½ teaspoon salt

For the filling:

½ cup sugar
2 ounces of butter
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg

For the glaze:

2½ cups of powdered sugar
4 ounces of butter, melted
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon lemon juice

How to Make Christmas Cinnabons

  1. Add the dry yeast in a large bowl and pour the warm water over it. Mix with a teaspoon.
  2. Next, add the flour in a large bowl. Mix it with the sugar and make a well in the middle of the flour.
  3. Add the egg, vegetable oil, salt, and the yeast/water mixture.
  4. Mix with a spatula to combine all the ingredients into a smooth dough. Cover it with foil and refrigerate overnight.
For the filling:
  1. Mix the sugar, butter, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a small bowl.
  2. Remove the dough from the fridge.
  3. Dust your working space with flour and level the dough with a rolling pin.
  4. Evenly spread the filling over the dough, leaving a 1 inch (2.5 cm) border.
  5. Start from one of the ends and roll towards the opposite end.
  6. Vertically slice the dough into 1 inch (2.5 cm) thick slices. Brush the border with melted butter.
  7. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and lay the dough slices side up. Cover the tray with foil and let rise for 45 minutes.
  8. Slide the tray into the oven and bake the cinnabons for 25 minutes at 360 degrees F/180 degrees C.
For the glaze:
  1. Add the powdered sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and lemon juice in a bowl.
  2. Use a teaspoon and mix everything well.
  3. Spread the mixture with a brush over the cinnabons.
