How to Make Christmas Cinnabons
- Add the dry yeast in a large bowl and pour the warm water over it. Mix with a teaspoon.
- Next, add the flour in a large bowl. Mix it with the sugar and make a well in the middle of the flour.
- Add the egg, vegetable oil, salt, and the yeast/water mixture.
- Mix with a spatula to combine all the ingredients into a smooth dough. Cover it with foil and refrigerate overnight.
For the filling:
- Mix the sugar, butter, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a small bowl.
- Remove the dough from the fridge.
- Dust your working space with flour and level the dough with a rolling pin.
- Evenly spread the filling over the dough, leaving a 1 inch (2.5 cm) border.
- Start from one of the ends and roll towards the opposite end.
- Vertically slice the dough into 1 inch (2.5 cm) thick slices. Brush the border with melted butter.
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper and lay the dough slices side up. Cover the tray with foil and let rise for 45 minutes.
- Slide the tray into the oven and bake the cinnabons for 25 minutes at 360 degrees F/180 degrees C.
For the glaze:
- Add the powdered sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and lemon juice in a bowl.
- Use a teaspoon and mix everything well.
- Spread the mixture with a brush over the cinnabons.
