Ingredients

6 ounces of butter
1 ¼ cups of sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3.5 ounces of chocolate
½ cup almond
½ cup pecan nut

Ingredients

Steps

1
Done

Heat a saucepan over medium heat. Add the butter, sugar, and vanilla extract.

2
Done

Let the butter melt, and keep the heat on for around 12-15 minutes, until the ingredients combine. The mixture should be thick, dark-golden colored, and it should have small bubbles appearing on the surface.

3
Done

Pour the mixture into a parchment-lined baking pan and level it with a spatula. Immediately add the shredded chocolate. Evenly spread it with a spatula. It should start melting, thus creating a chocolate layer for the toffee.

4
Done

Sprinkle the crushed almonds and pecans on top of the toffee.

5
Done

Refrigerate it for 30 minutes before serving it!

I guess I’ve always had a passion for cooking ever since I was a kid when I was mom’s little helper in the kitchen. Even though I wasn’t actually cooking, I was a picky eater, and I focused on bringing more flavor to her dishes, by adding extra herbs and spices I felt might enrich it. Time has passed, and I haven’t changed that much: I am now my girlfriend’s helper.
