Burgers and Fries in Puff Pastry

Burger with a side of French fries – it’s the kind of comforting meal you have had plenty of times. We tried to reinvent it, using crunchy pastry and some melted mozzarella that makes everything taste even better.

Ingredients Needed for Burgers and Fries in Puff Pastry

1 puff pastry
½ cup tomato sauce
10 ounces of french fries
6 burgers
2 eggs
1 cup milk
4 ounces of mozzarella
1 tablespoon ketchup

How to Cook Burgers and Fries in Puff Pastry

  1. Preheat the oven to 360 degrees F/180 degrees C.
  2. Place the puff pastry sheet in an oven tray.
  3. Coat the puff pastry with tomato sauce.
  4. Add half of the French fries over the tomato sauce.
  5. Fit the 6 burgers in the oven tray. Use a knife to cut them vertically and horizontally, in order to get little burger squares.
  6. Prepare some egg wash: mix the 2 eggs with the milk. Pour the mixture over the burgers in the tray.
  7. Cook in the oven for 20 minutes.
  8. Add the remaining French fries.
  9. Top everything off with the mozzarella slices.
  10. Cook in the oven for 10 more minutes.
  11. Serve with ketchup.
