These batter-fried shrimp skewers are an upgrade to the classic tempura shrimp. And all thanks to the batter which is made with three different cheeses: blue cheese, cottage cheese and Cheddar.

Ingredients Needed for Batter-Fried Shrimp Skewers

2 tablespoons of blue cheese
0.25 cottage cheese
¼ cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 egg
½ cup flour
½ teaspoon dried oregano
salt
pepper
6 shrimp
vegetable oil for frying

How to Make Batter-Fried Shrimp Skewers

  1. Add the blue cheese, cottage cheese, Cheddar, and the egg in one bowl. Combine everything.
  2. Add 1-2 tablespoons of flour and mix to make a cheese batter.
  3. Add the dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix again.
  4. Add more flour, to thicken the batter into a non-sticky dough.
  5. Put each shrimp on one skewer, then coat them in dough.
  6. Deep fry the shrimp.
  7. Serve with a dip.
