How to Make Aloo Tikki Burger

  1. For the mashed potatoes:Fill a cooking pot halfway with water and bring it to a boil. Add the potatoes and boil them until fork tender. Add the cooked potatoes to a bowl and mash them with the butter and milk.
  2. Add the mashed potatoes in a large bowl. Add the rest of the ingredients for the patties in the bowl (except for cornstarch, cornmeal, and vegetable oil). Mix everything using a spatula.
  3. Grab a pinch of the mixture in your hands and shape it in a 3 inches (7.5 cm) diameter patty. Continue until you’ve used all of the mixture. You should make about 6 patties.
  4. Add the cornstarch and cornmeal in 2 separate plates. Mix the cornstarch with 1-2 tablespoons of water.
  5. Coat the veggie patties with the cornstarch and cornmeal.
  6. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties until evenly golden and crispy. Set them aside on paper towels.
  7. Make the following salad for the burgers. Add the mayo, ketchup, mustard, onion, and carrot in a bowl. Mix everything well.
  8. Start assembling the burger. You can top the bottom side of the burgers with ketchup, salad mix, tomato, cucumber, the veggie patty, cheese, onion and carrot salad, and finally, close it with the top side of the burger.
