I don’t know about you, but I am a huge fan of firsts! I really like to start the New Year on the right foot, which means that everything matters: what I am wearing, what I am eating but, most of all, the first dessert I try. If you’re anything like me or just want to try to do that, we have a great selection of your possible first 2019 desserts to choose from and you can find them below.

2019 desserts to try at the start of the year

1. Hot fruit salad

Welcome to a feast for your sweet tooth! This hot fruit salad is indeed a scrumptious combination of textures: pleasantly flavourful dried cranberries and apricots with extra-juicy and soft canned pears and peaches. Make sure you flavor this fruity treat with applesauce, nutmeg, and cinnamon.

2. Almond chocolate swirls

It’s incredible how well almonds and chocolate get along together. Don’t you think? If you do, use almond flour to enhance your dough and almond flakes with dark chocolate for the filling. Flavor and spike the whole thing with cardamom, orange zest, ginger, chili, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Easily turn the roll into swirls by slicing it. And it’s all baking from there.

3. Berry gratin with creme anglaise

If you happen to have a sweet tooth, this berry gratin with crème anglaise might just be the thing you need. Follow the steps and in 30 minutes you’ll get to break through a flaky crust and juicy raspberry and blueberry topping, only to come at the milky and extra-smooth vanilla-flavored core.

4. Meringue and berry cheesecake

A crunchy base and creamy filling is the time-tested formula for cheesecake perfection. Add on top of the buttery biscuit base a smooth and refreshing vanilla-flavored berry mixture. And don’t say no to a touch of lemon. Add a French twist by topping it with meringue cream. Spend around 10 minutes preparing it; the remaining time is refrigeration time.

5. Caramel apple cake

With this flavorful apple cake, you get to combine the irresistible caramel savor with that of vanilla. But there is more! The fruity and juicy apples contrast in the most delicious way with the baked fluffy batter. If you’re anything like us, you’ll surely want a refill.
