Oreo has announced the source of inspiration for its latest “mystery” flavor: it’s churro!
The new cookie is the culmination of the brand’s mystery flavor contest started back in September. Participants were encouraged to try the mystery Oreo and identify the flavor, but the cookie brand also provided helpful hints on its website and social media channels. All those who guessed the new Oreo flavor were entered into a lottery, wherein one winner was chosen at random to win $50,000.

So the new Oreo is a sweet, cinnamon-rich variety, inspired by the popular thick fritter of fried dough, usually topped with cinnamon and sugar and served with a chocolate sauce. Yummy!
