The A-list actress, amazing mom, and kick-ass action heroine is forever young. How does she do it? Read on and find out the Jennifer Garner breakfast secrets!

I think I’ve loved Jennifer Garner ever since I first saw her in the TV show Alias, 17 years ago! She played the fabulous secret agent and psychology grad student who got herself in trouble during missions, but she always got out of it, thanks to her incredible skill with martial arts, her resilience, and also her creativity in the face of peril. She was an exciting and soulful superhero in Elektra.

During her now-ended marriage with Ben Affleck, she toned the action movies down a lot (completely, even), but now she’s back kicking ass and taking names in the action thriller Peppermint, where she plays a relentless mom. Kinda like Liam Neeson did in Taken.

Revealed: the Jennifer Garner breakfast secrets

But it has been 17 years, so what are the Jennifer Garner breakfast secrets to help her get and stay in shape?

Well, according to Marie Claire, it’s all about a smoothie! The wonderful actress posted a photo and a really great recipe for a breakfast smoothie on her Instagram account!

She prepared for the role in Peppermint by working with nutritionist Kelly LeVeque. If that name sounds familiar to you, that’s because LeVeque also concocted a signature smoothie for another A-list actress, Jessica Alba. But the nutritionist also works with Chelsea Handler, Emmy Rossum, and Molly Sims.

The secret is, then, a drink that’s rich in protein, fat, fiber, and greens. This not only keeps the drinker full for plenty of hours, but it’s also super healthy.

But what exactly is in it? 2 scoops of collagen protein powder (particularly Chocolate Coconut Collagen Fuel), 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed, 1 tablespoon chia seeds, 1 tablespoon almond butter, 1 ½ cups unsweetened almond milk, a handful of fresh spinach, a small handful of ice and a very small handful of blueberries. But the latter can be substituted by blueberry puree if you have that on hand and it’s simpler for you. Then, mix all of the ingredients in a blender.

Garner says that she’s been having that ever since she started to get ready for her film.

Jennifer Garner will also be seen soon in the HBO comedy Camping, written by Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner (the team behind another hit comedy, Girls).
