If you want to have a healthy diet, then you should really consider including raspberries in your meals. And it’s not even that hard to do. The health benefits of raspberries are definitely worth it.

I’m thoroughly in love with this fruit and when they’re in season, I always buy a lot and have them as a snack during hot days. Their texture is delicate, and their taste is always sweet with a bit of a tang. They’re completely worth it and not just for their flavors, not by a long shot. The health benefits of raspberries make them worth it even when they’re not in season. You can buy them frozen the rest of the year and then enjoy them in all kinds of different forms.

1. They have less sugar

A lot of fruits are loaded with sugar (or fructose, if we are to use the proper terminology), but raspberries are pretty low in sugar. One cup of fresh raspberries has only 5 grams of sugar. Compare and contrast with a banana that has 12 grams of sugar. That means they’re perfect for snacking.

2. They’re loaded with antioxidants

These red berries are positively full of antioxidants, like vitamin C, quercetin, and gallic acid. These also help support and protect your body when it comes to the rates of heart diseases, diabetes, cancer, and obesity. But they also help minimize inflammation in your body, which is always welcome in my book.

One cup of raspberries gives you over 50 percent of the recommended daily value for vitamin C.

3. They keep you younger for longer

It’s the same antioxidants I’ve mentioned above that protect your body but also conserve your youth. Inflammation tends to trigger premature aging, while other substances in the berries help repair your DNA and also they block some specific enzymes that might trigger arthritis pain.

4. They’re loaded with other nutrients, too

Other than loads of vitamin C and other antioxidants, raspberries also are rich in other vitamins and minerals. Among these, it’s worth it to mention vitamin K and manganese, which help keep your bones healthy.

And then, there’s also some minerals like magnesium, copper, iron, and potassium, and also vitamin E, and various B vitamins.

5. They help your digestion

Thanks to them being high in fiber (8 grams per cup), raspberries help keep you feeling fuller for a longer time and keep your digestive system healthy. This kind of fiber even helps keep your gut bacteria alive and kicking, which is always good news.

  1. I love that raspberries are so good for you but is there something else just as good as the raspberry ? They have that “hairy” stuff on them and that’s just gross. I have emphysema so I need all of the benefits and vitamins they have but without the hair lol
