Ingredients
  • 5 ounces (140 grams) chicken breast
  • 2 cheese slices
  • 4-6 salami slices
  • Fresh basil
  • 1/2 cup (70 grams) flour
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 cup (55 grams) breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Salt
  • Pepper
Preparation
  • Preheat the oven to 320°F/160°C.
  • Place the chicken breast on your chopping board.
  • Horizontally slice it through the middle to make room for the filling.
  • Add cheese slices, salami, and fresh basil.
  • Use some toothpicks to make sure you secure the filling.
  • Whisk the egg with milk and make some egg wash.
  • Coat the chicken with flour, egg wash, and breadcrumbs.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the schnitzel and cook it until golden and crispy on all sides.
  • Lay the schnitzel in a glass baking tray and season it with salt and pepper.
  • Slide it in the oven for the next 15 minutes.
